Lesta, a major developer and publisher of computer games in Russia (including World of Tanks and World of Warships), has started preparing for large-scale staff cuts.
In the summer of 2025, the Prosecutor General’s Office “seized” Lesta from its founders and placed it under state control. Boris Dobrodeev was appointed to lead the company, and he announced the need to hire as many people as possible, to develop and expand, and so on.
According to a source, less than six months later, employees were (unofficially) informed about the upcoming large-scale layoffs. The departments responsible for World of Warships are expected to be cut the most. It is also currently known that no employment contracts will be offered to interns, and they will be let go. The company’s office in Tashkent is planned to be completely closed.
